Prenatal Yoga
These 1hr classes offer women a safe and supportive environment and a community to bond with her baby and the miraculous experience of becoming a mother. Each class will cover yoga postures, movements and practices that build the strength and openness required for soon-to-be mothers to move with ease in her regular daily activities, deal with common discomforts (sciatica, inflammation, insomnia) and learn helpful positions for labour. Variations to postures will be offered to accommodate different stages of pregnancy and skill levels. No previous experience is required. Those with no prior experience we recommend to wait until their 2nd trimester. $72/expecting mother for 4 sessions
Policy on workshop: There are no refunds/exchange/credit for any unused classes/sessions. For every 6 sessions, student may post-pone up to one class (to the next consecutive date).
Kids Yoga with Occupational Therapist/Sensory Yoga Teacher Lee Davis
Children are not immune to the pace of modern society with over-scheduling, technological gadgets and competitive sports pushing the body into stress. Learning through the body by doing is much more powerful than through text and fact recall.. Children learn through moving, touching and physically experiencing concepts.
Offer your child the gift of yoga and promote their social and physical development through this fun and non-competitive discipline. Each 45 minute session created by Occupational Therapist Lee Davis uses imagination, picture cards, beanbag animals, music, lights and textured blankets and ends with a take home craft appropriate to the theme of the class.

Chinese Medicine & Yin Yoga Workshop with Dr. Jodi Larry and Lisa Barkin, CYT
Educational Focus: Digestive Health and the Stomach Meridian
For centuries, Chinese medicine has been used as an important tool to understand the workings of the body. This workshop will provide an insight into the philosophy of Chinese medicine and how to use it to heal the system on a mental and emotional level.
In this workshop we will explore the spleen/stomach meridian. Physical imbalances in this area include; irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, and indigestion. Emotional imbalances include: worry, anxiety and over-thinking. We will begin to explore how these imbalances occur, then how to heal these disturbances using diet and food, herbal remedies, acupuncture, emotional awareness and yin postures.
The experiential healing will begin with a Yin class targeting this very meridian. Yin is unique because by relaxing the muscles in the body, you can delve deeper into the denser connective tissue increasing overall functional mobility as well as releasing habitual holding patterns.
Education is the key to empowerment and change! You will leave this workshop with a clear understanding of Chinese medicine, the spleen/stomach meridian and how to heal your digestive imbalances using diet therapy, herbal remedies and yin postures.

This workshop is led by our very own Roger Yue, who has been studying and practicing yoga for over a decade. It will focus on the fundamentals of Vinyasa yoga, which derives from Ashtanga and is
the practice of putting a fixed order of postures together by using a specific movement-breathing technique. This 4-week workshop is suitable for beginners and also, intermediate students. Week 1 will focus on Ujjayi (breath of fire) breathing and Surya Namaskara (sun salutations) A. Week 2 will focus on Surya Namaskara B and a few key forward/back bending postures. Week 3 will focus on standing/seated postures and twists. Week 4 will bring a focus to the activation of the core, inversions and arm balancing. A maximum number of participants for this workshop is enforced to ensure personal attention with Roger.
Emphasizing the breath as the foundation of yoga, Roger's enthusiasm and love for the practice combined with his wry sense of humour make his classes inspiring and fun. As a teacher, he hopes to encourage and support students on their journey towards an understanding of themselves as physical, mental and spiritual beings.
Jason Crandell - How AwakeningYour Core leads to greater steadiness and integration
In this 2.5 hours workshop with Jason Crandell, you will awaken deep sensations and intelligence in the core of your body. You won't do 10,000 sit-ups or crunches. Instead, you'll examine how your feet, legs and abdominals work together to create greater strength, integration and ease in all of your poses. You can expect plenty of abdominal work woven into sun salutations, standing poses, twists and an occasional arm-balance to two.

Similarly, the hips, which often hold the key to arm balancing, respond best to smooth, slow unfolding rather than brief bursts of zealous pushing. In this workshop you will untie those knots in your hips and learn how to approach arm-balances with patience, composure and relaxation.
