Here at Yoga Tree richmondhill, we reserve half the class capacity for online booking. Reservations are confirmed by pre-payment online, and is accessible to individuals with active membership programs.

Walk-in spaces are always available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Unfortunately, phone reservations cannot be accommodated.

9:45 AM - 11:00 AM Ashtanga L1This is great for beginners and people looking forward to learning more about Ashtanga. Ashtanga Level 1 is a class where you'll be taught this fast-paced practice at a slower rate, and learn specific safer modifications for the more difficult poses. Lina

As a yoga teacher, Kate combines her social psychology background with passion for all things health and fitness. After exploring various styles of yoga, including Hatha, Iyengar, Kripalu, and Restorative yoga, Kate found that more vigorous styles of yoga such as ashtanga and hot yoga were best aligned with her personality. Kate is a graduate of Yoga Tree teacher training program and also had the opportunity to study under such respected teachers as R. Sharath, Danny Paradise and Doug Swenson. Kate’s high-energy classes emphasize strength and alignment, as she encourages students to challenge themselves, while respecting their limits.

9:45 AM - 11:00 AM Gentle Hatha L1This is suitable for beginners, students of all ages and fitness levels. This gentle, slower paced class typically starts with breathing techniques followed by detailed instructions on how to perform each posture. Includes Level 1 poses: standing, balancing, back bends and sitting poses. Options are given throughout the class for participants of varying degrees of strength and/or flexibility. It is non-competitive and most postures are easily modified to fit the individual needs of the practitioner. Mary

Mary believes no matter what age, size, agility- everyone can benefit from a regular yoga practice. Mary teaches yoga classes in a non-competitive and accepting atmosphere. Mary's classes offer a mindful based exercise that increases focus, flexibility and strength to promote your over-all health and well-being. In Mary's classes, you can expect to learn proper physical alignment, greater self-awareness while healing, expanding and excelling the capabilities of your body and mind.

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Reduced Heat L1Similar to hot yoga, the temperature is set 10 degrees less at 28 degrees. This class can be used to prepare you for Hot Yoga classes if you are timid of the heat. The heat will promote detoxification of the body and will allow a deeper stretch into the muscle tissues, ligaments and tendons. *Remember to bring a bottle of water and towel to place on mat Lina

A graduate from McMaster University in Psychology, Michelle utilizes her understanding of human learning to cultivate balanced yet challenging classes. Michelle encourages students to utilize relaxation techniques to release themselves from self-imposed limitations and move deeper into their personal practice. Encouraging students to connect breath to movement, focus on alignment, balance strength and flexibility, develop core strength, and have fun, Michelle’s classes are both challenging and light hearted. When Michelle is not teaching you can usually find her upside down in her favourite asana, headstand.

6:00 PM - 7:15 PM Core YogaThe core is essentially the centre of the body and an important area to providing proper posture and physical movement. A strong core not only looks healthy and appealing to the body, but enables the yogi to have a stronger practice and become more centered in each posture. A strong core means a strong yoga practice. Core Yoga gives you the opportunity to flow through postures while creating movements that emphasize on creating a stronger core and more awareness of this very important energy point. The heat will encourage a detoxifying sweat while you flow through a dynamic sequence of postures following your breath. At a reduced rate of $10, this class is open level and for everyone with or without a Yoga Tree membership. No reservation is required. Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis. TBA

Sub by Gordana Ljuboje


Gordana has been on a lifelong quest for health and balance. As a result of this journey, she came across Yoga and began practicing in 2004, feeling immense benefits from the start. A year and a half after joining Yoga Tree, Gordana received her teacher certification and began working as an instructor in early 2011. Her classes are mainly Hatha and Restorative inspired, and aim to help students feel more energetic, healthier, stronger and more flexible from their practice. Gordana is passionate about practicing and teaching yoga and hopes that in the long run, her students can share this passion with her and achieve a sense of mental and physical balance, feeling relaxed and at peace, on and off the mat.
