Yoga Marathon Success!
On
April 25th, Yoga Tree embarked on a YOGA MARATHON to
raise money for breast cancer research at Mount Sinai Hospital.
In total we raised over $4,000 for this great cause. Thanks Wendy
T, Kate S, Rana L. Teena G, Anastasia B, Ruth B, Julia S, and Maryia
S for making this event a success!

Please welcome the graduating class of Jan 2010. After all their
hard work and dedication to become certified yoga teachers, you
will be seeing some of their names on the June schedule.

Who Should Apply:
Those who would like to deepen their knowledge
Our comprehensive 250hr program is designed both for aspiring teachers
and for those who want to deepen their yoga knowledge and personal
practice.
Within the foundational teachings, you will study:
· How to cultivate mindfulness training
· Therapeutic applications for health conditions and injuries
· How to release myo-fascial blockages that can restrict
motion
· Anatomical studies for correct alignment in asanas and
pranayama
· How to use sequence engaging and beneficial classes
· Reading students bodies to assess proper alignment and
hands-on adjustment

Schedule Adjustments for June
As the months get warmer we have adjusted the schedule to reflect
the change in seasons. Some of the Hot Yoga classes have been changed
to Reduced Heat and some of the Reduced Heat classes have been changed
to Hatha Flow. Please refer to the schedule for changes. **Please
Note: In July at Thornhill morning weekday classes
will be temporarily cancelled for the month of July and will resume
again in August. This is to accomodate the Teacher Training Course.
All class passes are usable at both studios and you are welcome
to take classes at Richmond Hill during this transition.**

Yoga & Meditation Tour to India
2011
Great news everyone! Yoga Tree is planning a trip to India for
2011 and you're invited! You can have a once in a lifetime chance
to explore the cultural and physical landscape of India. We are
planning for May 2011 for a 10 day tour exploring India's Golden
Triangle. Become immersed in the yogi lifestyle and study with real
yoga gurus to deepen your meditation in traditional ashrams. At
the end of the tour you have the option of joining Jason to visit
his yoga teacher in southern India.

Open House June 19th
Do you have a friend who would truely benefit from yoga? If so
spread the word, we are holding an Open House especially for new
students to Yoga Tree. Classes will be lead by our wonderful Program
Directors Karin and Jason. In these beginner classes we will learn
some basic aspects of Yoga that will give you a good foundation
once you start the practice.

Green Tip of the Month
It's that time of year again; the ants come marching in.
Here are some things you may want to try before reaching for that
can of insecticide.
- Pour lemon juice around areas ants frequent.
- Baking soda can deter ants; pour a solid line in areas of activity
and they won't cross it.
- A ring of coffee grounds around sensitive plants can discourage
ants.
