Backbend Workshop

May 25 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

Join Vanessa and Brad as they guide you through the art of backbends in a safe and positive environment. This workshop will combine a heart opening flow to warm up the body, with a look at the anatomy in relation to backbends. Focusing on key front-body and hip opening postures, as well as spinal techniques to increase the mobility and strength of your spine. Within each highlighted pose, there will be accessible variations to work on, as well as prepping and positioning yourself for more intensive backbends. This workshop will offer you the tools to not only deepen your backbends but to maintain a healthy spine as your backbend practice continues to grow, giving you the confidence to journey into backbends on your own safely and fearlessly!

About Brad
Brad has been a student of yoga, movement and meditation from his earliest days of childhood. He was always an athlete, playing sports of every kind. Before entering high school, Brad’s father introduced him to Yoga. In high school, he experienced a severe knee injury that led him to surgery and physiotherapy. Throughout his rehabilitation, he found himself practicing yoga for a few hours every day and falling in love with its benefits.  Brad’s studied under many teachers and ashrams in the world and has studied yoga in places such as Zanzibar, Tanzania, Gdynia and across India.

About Vanessa
Vanessa is a Toronto based yoga teacher with a strong focus on flexibility and strength, while emphasizing breath and alignment. She was immediately drawn to the power of the practice – using mindful breath to enjoy not just the physical benefits that can be gained from yoga, but the mental and spiritual aspects as well. She also encourages students to step out of their comfort zones with creative and accessible variations and have fun with their practice!

Participation is limited to 25 people. Online or in-person registration prior to the start date is required. Introductory pass, class cards, auto-renew, and other promotional discounts cannot be used for or towards this workshop. No refunds or credit for cancellations on or after May 11th, 2019. All refunds prior to May 11th, 2019 are subject to a 20% processing fee that will be deducted from your refund balance. No refunds or credit will be issued for absence from the workshop.
