All Things Crow with Queenie and Jonathan

This workshop will focus on building a sturdy foundation for your arm balancing practice. We will break down the anatomy and mechanics of the most fundamental arm balance: bakasana (crow pose). Learn drills and exercises that will strengthen your wrists, shoulders, and core; all integral to the support of a strong and stable arm balance. From there, we will give you the techniques to build on other crow variations, including side crow, one-legged crow, and transitions into tripod headstand. Discover how your mula bandha and uddiyana bandha can assist you in holding your crow for longer periods of time with less strain on your shoulders and wrists. Most importantly, learn to get over your fear of balancing on your hands!

About Queenie: Queenie’s favourite classes to teach are generally faster-paced, vinyasa-power style, where she will encourage you to marry your breath to the movement of the body. She uses each class to teach both fundamental postures and techniques while at the same time introducing interesting new flows and target postures. Expect to be asked to smile while in her classes, and to sweat.

About Jonathan: Jonathan focuses on how yoga can improve functional movement, the importance of alignment and stability, and how to keep your body safe while practicing. He often challenges his students to rethink each pose and their practice so that it better serves themselves. In his class you can expect to be given the tools to take ownership of your practice and to have a few laughs along the way.

Introductory pass, class cards, auto-renew, and other promotional discounts cannot be used for or towards this workshop. No refunds or credit for cancellations on or after February 23 2019. All refunds prior to February 23 2019 are subject to a 20% processing fee that will be deducted from your refund balance. No refunds or credit will be issued for absence from the workshop.
