Teacher Training FAQ
As one of the largest network of studios in Toronto and GTA, our online and in-studio training allow graduates to network with our community and teachers. Our training prepares teachers to teach a variety of styles of yoga and is reflected in the class offerings offered at our 3 locations. Yoga Tree has been leading training programs for over 15 years and has certified over 500 graduates who have continued to inspire their community through yoga around the world. We are also proud of the diversity of teachers at Yoga Tree that we certify and rehire which has created our community today.
Yoga Tree’s Online teacher training is based on a multidisciplinary approach with a focus on Hatha, Ashtanga and Hot Yoga. An immersion program that blends movement, lectures, group study and self-development- all from home.
Learn from experienced faculty members live over zoom and receive immediate guidance and feedback on your own alignment and technique to grow your practice and gain the confidence to teach others. Teachers will be able to see your posture on the large screen projector, while practicing with students practicing in studio.
With Yoga Tree’s network studios across the GTA, Yoga Tree reserves our Community classes to help our graduates grow and elevate their practice in studio settings.
Complementing learning in class, a 5 Months Unlimited Membership is included with tuition. Students can use this membership for both Online and in studio classes at any of our locations.
We recommend a minimum of six months of practice and you have the desire to teach others and deepen your practice and knowledge of yoga with our experienced faculty.
You will not be evaluated based on your ability to hold certain postures.
We believe that all levels of practitioners can benefit from our Teacher Training. Our programs are designed to take you on a journey of self-discovery as well as teach yoga.
All it takes is your willingness to learn and keeping an open mind to allow for growth.
Yoga Tree’s teacher training philosophy stems from three yoga traditions: Hatha, Asthanga, and Hot Yoga.
Upon graduating from the program, students will have developed a personal teaching style, and comfort and ability to teach hot and non-heated Hatha-style classes. Hot Yoga training will not be held in a heated room. You will also gain familiarity with other styles such as vinyasa and gentle hatha, where you can choose to expand your knowledge further develop your practice as a yoga teacher.
Each day will include a physical yoga practice – so be prepared to move!
Expect to be welcomed into a safe environment, and to let go of your fears from day one. Each day of your training will have a different focus taught by a core of senior teachers and rotating guest teachers sharing specific knowledge. You will enjoy intense days of training with a supportive and energetic group of people.
On a typical day, you will start with a morning 60 min practice, followed by theory and postural clinics. Lunch is 1 hr, followed by sequencing techniques or philosophy, ending the day with another 60 minutes of practice to incorporate and review postures studied during the day.
As a Yoga Tree teacher-in-training, you will have access to our knowledgeable senior instructors and approachable mentors to help you learn. As part of your training, you will have unlimited access to our in-studio and online classes and our Yoga On Demand Channel, offering you a supportive and nurturing space to grow your yoga and teaching practices.

Absolutely. Teacher Training is an amazing way to transform and grow your personal practice, deepen your knowledge of yoga and of yourself. The desire to teach is not essential to the experience.
Our weekend Teacher Training is an 11-weekend program held every Saturday and Sunday. It’s flexible for many who has a full-time commitment during the weekdays.

Teacher Training Graduates Reviews
Celton
I truly loved this program. Top to bottom, the knowledge was comprehensive and practical. It delved into the necessary information, setting us up for success in teaching and gave us a good taste of what paths we might want to take afterwards. I feel so ready and excited to teach, and completely supported by the faculty we step into the next chapter. So grateful for this training, and everything to come!
