How to Do A Reclined Bound Angle Pose (with Aaron Ali)

Reclined Angle Bound Pose is a wonderful stretch that is very common in the Yin style of yoga. It helps to relieve stiffness in the shoulders and back, releases the groin and hamstrings, stretches and tones the abdominal muscles, and is proven to aid in relieving a variety of conditions, including constipation, infertility, sciatica, and menstrual pain. In time, many people who practice in this pose find an excellent release in the hips, as well as a greater calm in mind and body.

When practicing reclined bound angle pose, be sure to start off small; about a minute or so is okay if you are not used to the stretch. In time, you will find yourself becoming comfortable with remaining in the pose for five to ten minutes, enjoying the sensation of release in the body. The level of comfort is entirely up to you, and results will come only if you are in a position that isn’t causing you any discomfort.
