Yoga Tree’s 12 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Workshop For Children

 

This workshop is for new yoga teachers who share a passion for helping children succeed socially, emotionally and academically through yoga. The course is designed to offer the necessary tools for teaching, engaging, therapeutic yoga classes to children 5-12 years old.

  • Learn how to select asanas that offer maximum therapeutic value and proper yoga sequencing for kids.
  • Learn how to create lesson plans using storytelling, music, props, essential oils and guided
    visualizations.
  • Learn techniques for introducing breath and meditation to children.
  • Learn behaviour management techniques including observing two actual children’s yoga
    classes, one for each age group.

Prerequisite

Minimum 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training at a Yoga Alliance registered school.

Instructor: Lee Davis

Lee’s passion lies in helping children achieve their optimal potential. Using her knowledge of development and learning styles as an Occupational Therapist, Lee has created a yoga program specifically for children that utilizes a whole body and mind approach. Lee’s classes are appropriate for all children between the ages of 5 and 12. Each 45 minute class incorporates the physical aspect of yoga as well as addressing concentration, focus and social development, and ends with a take-home craft.
